PLAINS - The Horsemen came out swinging against Ronan on Friday night and scored a victory, 54-47, and head coach Russ Baker said it was due to heighth, and working the inside.

“We went with a bigger lineup and worked the ball inside  and our used height advantage,” Coach Baker said. “We rebounded a lot better and controlled the tempo of the game. We tried to limit our mistakes, but there were a few. We had close to 20 missed bunnies from the inside. If we had made those it would’ve been a blowout.”

Coach Baker also emphasized that the team’s success came due to a few key players.

“Jeremiah Crawford had a double-double {double digit scoring and rebounds],” Coach Baker said. “He had 14 rebounds, and 15 points. Aaron Baker also pulled a double-double. He had 10 points and 10 rebounds.”

Other notable players for the win were Kyle Revier with 11 points, and Dallas Burgess, who put in 10 points.

As for the game coming up against Bigfork, Coach Baker said the team is gearing up for a good one.

“We’re going to try to not let the game away from us,” he said. “We’ll try to keep the game real close - no turnovers, no baskets off of turnovers. They’re one of the better teams of the Class-B schools and have not lost a conference game in four years.”

The conference game will take place Thursday night at Plains.
