Joscelyn Lea Cook, 21, of Plains went home to be with the love of her life, Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2013.

She was born on September 7, 1991 to Chris and Linda Cook in Missoula, MT. She was raised in Plains at the family home with her five little sisters. Her early education was at Plains elementary and then she was homeschooled for her high school education. She spent part of her teenage years employed at McGowan’s grocery, a cherished time for her. In 2010, she left the family home to pursue an education in nursing at the Montana State University.

Joscelyn spent her summers in her teenage years working on staff at Camp Bighorn, where she developed some of her most cherished friendships while learning and teaching rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and other outdoor adventures all while doing her most favorite event of all, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In 2009 at the age of 17, Joscelyn spent her summer on a mission trip in Nepal, a life-changing event for her. Here she served with a mission who rescued young girls from the slave trade, loved on the afflicted in a leper colony, and shared the gospel to the lost.

She loved everything about her college days. She attended many bible studies, got involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, Intervarsity, Crosslife and spent many of her Friday nights dancing at “The Barn.” We are so thankful that she invested her life into matters that would last for time and eternity.

Joscelyn loved the outdoors, enjoying rock climbing, hiking, skiing and anything outdoorsy as well as coffee dates with her friends and spending her spare time with her little sisters. She also had a special talent for art and music. She enjoyed singing and playing guitar as well as painting and drawing.

She was preceded in death by a beloved paternal Great-grandma and grandpa, a maternal Grandpa, as well as a brother.

Joscelyn is survived by, her parents, Chris and Linda Cook, five younger sisters, Kaylee, Jamie, Mikiah, Melodie and Jayden all of Plains. Her grandmother, Gerry DeTienne of Hot Springs. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joscelyn was a soul who touched many lives by her kindness, her contagious bright smile, and her constant sense of joy – not a feeling, but a condition of the heart. She left her mark on this earth because of her faith in God.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. in Plains at the Plains Bible Chapel with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Security Bank in Joscelyn’s name to be used towards her favorite missions.
