Susan K. Goad, 67, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 11, 2013. She was born April 5, 1945 in Eau Clair, Wis. to Kenneth and Dorothy Peak. Sue married Doug Goad on Sept. 10, 1961 in Las Vegas. They lived in California until moving to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in Aug. 1978. Sue was a wonderful homemaker. She was passionate about her family and loved to tell everyone that would listen about her children, grand and great- grandchildren. She loved to watch and hold all the children she could. She enjoyed knitting and going to church when she could. Her sense of humor, smile and sparkling eyes drew many to her. She loved to go camping and fishing with her husband and family as often as possible. Sue is survived by her husband, Doug Goad Jr. of Coeur d'Alene; son, Danny Goad Sr. (MaryAnn) of Post Falls; daughters, Cindy (Goad) Van Slate of Coeur d'Alene, Claudia (Goad) Lockwood of Coeur d’Alene; grandchildren, Danny Goad Jr. (Jessica Tobin Goad) of Post Falls, Dylan Van Slate of Coeur d’Alene, Tiffany Goad of Coeur d’Alene, Kalyn Van Slate of Coeur d’Alene, Tyler Lockwood of Post Falls, Trevor Lockwood of Coeur d’Alene, and Kayla and Ryan Lockwood; great- grandchildren, Brookelynn and Madison of Coeur d’Alene. Other survivors include Susan's mother, Dorothy Peak of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Judith Peak Learned (Ron) of Texas; brothers, Tom Peak (Virginia) of Coeur d’Alene, Mike Peak (Yolanda) of Coeur d’Alene, and Steve Peak (Rosalia) of Coeur d’alene; and many other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins in the North Idaho area. Susan is preceded in death by her son, Vincent Goad; her father, Kenneth Peak; her mother- and father-in-law, Katherine and Douglas Goad Sr.; and son-in-law, Mike Van Slate. Sue was the most loving person, caring about everyone and loved by all. She will be missed greatly. One of her favorite sayings was, "Once I love someone I never take it back." Private services are pending. English Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
