Plate-throwing man draws crowd

Saturday night, Kalispell Police arrested a man for partner family member assault after his wife called and said he was drunk and hitting her and threw a plate at her head. Several officers responded to the house on Fifth Avenue East and found the man, who reportedly went into the garage before they arrived. The woman declined medical treatment.

A couple of men trying to start fights at a business on North Meridian Road agreed to move along when officers showed up.

A woman on Third Avenue West told police that a silver Audi ran over her fence. Her husband reportedly went out to confront the driver and to stop the driver from leaving, and was then bumped when the driver drove off. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and police said Sunday they are still investigating the incident.

Earlier on Saturday, an East Oregon Street caller reported a TV, clock, purse and backpack stolen from the house.

A man complained to police that his girlfriend pawned his gun and he can’t get it back. Officers advised it is a civil issue.

A man reportedly left a store on Third Avenue East North with a bottle in his pants in an attempted theft but dropped the bottle once outside of the store.

Four speakers were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Eighth Avenue East North.

Early Sunday morning, officers arrested a man for driving under the influence after a traffic stop on East Idaho Street.

A TV was stolen from a lodge in Whitefish, possibly by an employee, a caller told the Whitefish Police on Saturday.

A car parked in a public lot on Spokane Avenue was reportedly broken into. A caller said it looked like other cars were also broken into.

Around 3:40 p.m., a caller reported people having sex in a turquoise pickup in a parking lot on Colorado Avenue. The people had been having sex there since 9 a.m., the caller said. Officers responded and subjects were advised of the law.

Early Sunday morning, a caller reported an elderly woman sleeping in a van in a parking lot. The caller knew the woman but not why she was sleeping in a parking lot when she has a house. An officer checked on the woman and she was OK. She told him to leave her alone.

A woman was removed from a bar for throwing drinking glasses.

Polson Police arrested someone for driving under the influence Saturday after making a traffic stop on Sixth Street East.

Officers arrested someone for criminal contempt after responding to a report of suspicious activity on 12th Avenue East.
