SPIRIT LAKE - Keegan Scott scored 20 points and Johnny Hayden had 17 points and seven assists to lead the Timberlake Tigers past the Priest River Spartans 75-62 in the Battle of the Buck spirit game on Saturday at Timberlake High.

"It was a well-fought game," Timberlake coach Tony Hanna said. "There was lots of emotion and crowd noise, but it makes it fun. It's a challenge to stay focused, but I thought both teams handled it well."

Timberlake, which jumped out to a 26-14 lead after the first quarter, won the Buck for the second straight year.

"We knocked down some shots from outside the paint and controlled the boards early on," Hanna said. "In the second half, they came out and jumped on us defensively and made a good run. Priest River did a really good job in the second half."
