Retired Colonel Tom Sward of the United States Marine Corps in his home on Sunday, January 20, in Bigfork with a framed American flag that was presented to him on the day he took command of his battalion, First Marine Division. The flag is a cherished item in the Sward home because it flew over the U.S. Senate the day President Kennedy was assassinated. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
