New business focuses on water filtration

Out of its Wisconsin Avenue office, LifeWater Sciences sells a number products designed for filtering or enhancing water. The main focus of the business is The Fountain of Life, a water filtration system that Doran created and patented.
Doran has spent 25 years working in the water treatment field. What he found was a lack of a water treatment system that would work with any type of water and remove contaminates while creating healthy water.
“I wanted to build a better mouse trap,†he explained. “I learned about water chemistry and physiology. I knew there had to be a better idea and decided to design it myself.â€
The result is the company’s main product, The Fountain of Life, a water filtration system that is designed to be installed under the countertop and is roughly the size of a trash compactor. The system consistently produces a half gallon of water per minute passing through a number of filters and treatments.
Water enters into the system and passes through a number of filters removing chlorine, organic contaminants, heavy metals, pharmaceutical drugs, bacteria and viruses and parasites such as giardia. After the water is cleaned and alkaline, minerals are added and the water molecules are activated.
“It’s ultra pure water that is also healthy,†he said. “It’s important to drink water that is healthful.â€
Doran envisions The Fountain of Life being used by those who want improved water, but also for people who live in areas where drinking water has become contaminated.
“It can rectify a lot of water contamination issues,†he said.
Beyond household or commercial water usage, the company is exploring the possibility of its system being used in agricultural practices. The company claims that plants irrigated with the water grow larger, faster and with less disease. It can also be used for livestock and improves meat production, noted Doran.
“There is no end to its uses,†he said. “It can be used for anything that water touches.â€
