MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake boys basketball split games Friday and Saturday, losing a hard-fought contest on the road to Sunnyside, and then bounced back with a win at home over Eisenhower.
The split puts the Chiefs at 4-6 in league play and 6-9 overall.

The Chiefs suffered a gut-wrenching one point loss to the Grizzlies Friday to kick off the weekend games.
Moses Lake got off to a good start offensively, outscoring Sunnyside 20-16 in the first eight minutes of action. A 12-10 second quarter put the Chiefs up 32-26 at intermission. But poor shooting in the second half by Moses Lake allowed the Grizzles to comeback and win the game as they put 32 second half points on the board to Moses Lake's 25.
"We out rebounded them 47 to 24 and did a lot of things right," coach John Hohman said. "But we shot 32 percent from the floor, 42 percent from the 3-point line, and 37 percent from the free throw line in the second half, and that's not going to get it done in a tight ball game."
Denis Ulynachuk had a double-double of 19 points and 24 rebounds to lead the way for the Chiefs. Trino Rubio and Mitch Hohman had 10 points each, and Easton Baker, Josh Hirz and Cameron Ballard finished with 6 each on the game.

Moses Lake got just what the team needed to ease the pain of a 1-point loss when the Chiefs rebounded with a lopsided win over the Cadets at home Saturday.
The game was never in doubt as Moses Lake jumped out to a 19-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, was up 41-17 at the half, and led 63-21 at the end of the third quarter.
Josh Hirz scored a game and career high 24 points, and Denis Ulynachuk added14 points to help lead the Chiefs to victory. Nick Sutherland had 9 points, Mitch Hohman, 7, Easton Bake, 6, and Cameron Ballard and Trino Rubio finished with 3 each.
"It was a nice bounce-back win for us," Hohman said. "Ike is down this year and hasn't won a game, but is a well-coached team."
The Chiefs are back on the hardwood with two home games this weekend. Moses Lake hosts Wenatchee Friday, and then takes on Eastmont Saturday. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
