Spokane Public Radio general manager to talk

The general manager of Spokane Public Radio will visit Coeur d'Alene on Feb. 1.

Cary Boyce is scheduled to speak at the noon meeting of the Rotary Club of Coeur d'Alene at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, about the station's immediate and long-range plans and how these will affect Coeur d'Alene listeners and supporters.

This is only open to Rotary members.

At 1, Boyce will move to The Bistro on Spruce at 1710 N. Fourth St. for an informal public visit residents until 3 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a cup of free coffee and bring their questions about SPR's programs and services.

Michael Buble, wife expecting first child

NEW YORK (AP) - Michael Buble has something new to sing about: becoming a father.

In an online video posted Thursday by the YouTube account of Buble's wife, Luisana Lopilato, a sonogram with the words "Mini Buble!!!" is shown. The 20-second video ends up with words: "We're having a baby Buble!!!!"

The 37-year-old Canadian singer and his 25-year-old Argentine actress-wife were married in 2011. The couple met in 2009 during a South American concert tour.

A representative for Buble confirmed that the couple are expecting.

Buble is a Grammy-winning pop singer who has sold millions of albums, including "Crazy Love" and 2011's "Christmas." Lopilato made her name as a model and in Argentine sitcoms and soap operas.

Underwood, White to perform at Grammys

NEW YORK (AP) - Grammy nominees Jack White, Carrie Underwood and the Lumineers will hit the Grammys stage next month.

The Recording Academy announced Thursday that those acts will join previously announced performers including fun., The Black Keys and Taylor Swift at the Feb. 10 awards show in Los Angeles.

White is nominated for album of the year and the Lumineers are up for best new artist.

U.K. newcomer Ed Sheeran and Elton John will perform together. Sheeran's "The A Team" is nominated for song of the year.

Country singers Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley will also join forces onstage.

The Black Keys, Rihanna and Mumford & Sons are also set to perform.

'Mad Men' to return for new season on April 7

NEW YORK (AP) - AMC says "Mad Men" will return for its new season on April 7.

AMC announced Wednesday that the two-hour premiere kicks off the acclaimed drama series' sixth season. The episode was written by "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner.

"Mad Men" is set in the advertising world of circa-1960s New York City and stars Jon Hamm as agency exec Don Draper. Other stars include January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery and Christina Hendricks.
