A 50-year-old Columbia Falls man died on Sunday morning when his car slid off Blackmer Lane and struck several trees, the Montana Highway Patrol said.
The one-vehicle crash occurred at about 8:17 a.m. at 845 Blackmer Lane.
The man was driving east on Blackmer Lane when his car drifted sideways off the right side of the road, hit a private fence, continued through a yard and struck three trees.
The man was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected through the front passenger side window. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Montana Highway Patrol said.
Road conditions were identified as bare and dry at the time of the crash. It is not known if alcohol was a factor. Speed was determined to be a factor.
