Basketball roundup: Whitefish girls pick up 1st win

WHITEFISH — Simone Craft hit a 3 to break a 41-all tie and added a free throw with 30 seconds remaining to give Whitefish a come-from-behind 45-41 Northwestern A girls basketball victory Tuesday evening over Libby.
Craft finished with a career-best 20 points. She had four of Whitefish’s seven treys.
Maura Kalbfleisch had two 3s for the Bulldogs (1-13 overall, 1-5 league) and Shannon Craft had one.
Libby (3-11, 1-5) had six 3s with Hailey Craig netting four en route to a 14-point performance.
Libby’s next outing is Feb. 5 at Eureka.
Whitefish returns to the court Feb. 7 at Plains.

Morgan Paolini scored 15 of her game-high 29 points in the opening quarter and Jordan Danz followed with 23, leading Stillwater Christian to a Western Division Montana Christian Athletic Association home victory over Flathead Valley Homeschool.
Danz added nine more points in the second quarter.
Paolini and Danz finished with double-doubles as they had 11 and 13 rebounds, respectively. Paolini also led in steals, six, as did Danz in assists, four.
Those two standouts, along with Sarah Smith, were honored during a special Senior Night tribute.
Stillwater (14-2, 4-0) hosts Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on Friday at 5 p.m.
Maggie Rajkowski paced FVHS with 21 points. Hannah Seely netted 16.

Josh Bray poured in 35 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to guide Stillwater Christian School to a victory over Flathead Valley Homeschool in Western Division MCAA play at Stillwater Christian School.
Bray had five 3s in the game and scored 19 points in the final half as the Cougars (10-7, 3-1) avenged an earlier season loss (59-37) to FVHS.
Bray, Caleb Chuang and Cole Moore had two steals each for SCS and Noah Hashley and Jeremiah Hashley both had three assists.
SCS honored its seven seniors on Senior Night — Jeff Mwiluki, Bray, Noah Hashley, Chuang, Zach Falk, Brad Heine and Cole Moore.
Josh Jarvis tallied 11 points for FVHS.
Stillwater entertains Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
