THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks secured two wins over the week against Superior and Troy.

On Friday, the ladies hosted Superior and had their shot at revenge, taking the win from the Lady Cats with a final score of 55-46.

The game started off quickly with a burst of energy. Superior nailed down the first points of the game quickly followed by Kelsey Fitchett who swished in a three-pointer and sequentially got another four points into the basket. With a strong start, Fitchett continued hammering down the points, successfully shooting a freethrow.

With five minutes left in the quarter, the Lady Hawks battled the Lady Cats point-for-point, keeping the score even.

Logan Beckman bucketed a shot at the buzzer ending the first quarter with a four-point lead.

Beckman continued her streak, shouldering the first points of the second quarter followed by a three-point shot from Allison Vaught.

The points kept flying with Vaught, Hope Reid and then Erica Sorlie scoring back-to-back. With two minutes left in the quarter, Superior stepped back into the game slamming down three baskets in a row.

The third quarter started off quickly with Superior securing three points right at the get go. Beckman came in and added another shot to the Lady Hawk’s total.

Fitchett brought the crowd to an uproar, stalling the ball on the rim in a tantalizing suspense. With success, the Lady Hawks continued to bring the points in.

The third quarter ended with a 9-point lead.

Vaught scored two freethrows continuing the team on its track to success.

As the match got heated, freethrows began flying, adding the points up one by one on both sides.

Beckman ended the game tossing two freethrows into the basket and succeeding in a Lady Hawk victory.

The ladies then continued on to beat Troy on Saturday, securing 27 points in the second quarter.

Head coach Jason Reimer said the girls are on the right track for continued wins.

“We’ve done a nice job getting ready for the rest of the season,” said Coach Reimer. “We’re trying to finish out strong.”

The Lady Hawks will face off Plains on Friday in the rivalry game at Thompson Falls.
