NOXON – The Red Devil wrestlers competed at the Darby tournament on Saturday and are looking good for the divisional tournament taking place this weekend.

Noxon will be hosting the tournament, which will take place at Thompson Falls.

The Red Devils had four placers at the Darby tournament. Luke Crowe took second place at 140 lbs; Kory Neal placed fourth at 145 lbs; Gary Wadman took third at 160 lbs; and John Onofrey placed third at 215 lbs.

As for the divisional tournament, head coach Ben Ulrick plans to take a handful of wrestlers.

“We are going to take eight guys to divisionals,” said Coach Ulrick. “I’m optimistic about a few guys getting through to the state tournament.”

The Red Devils are back to the basics at practice, strengthening and honing their skills to be in the best shape possible for the upcoming competitions.

“It’s been a steady season and we’ve been steadily improving. We’ve had some high points and low points but I see the wrestlers on the team getting better everyday,” said Coach Ulrick.
