Our beloved Heather left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on June 25, 2013. She was born Dec. 20, 1971, in Kellogg. Heather was the daughter of Thomas and Gloria (Talley) Atkins.

Heather has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life. She attended and graduated from Kellogg High School in Kellogg in 1990.

After graduation Heather went to work at Alfa Health in Post Falls until 2004. From 2007-2009, she had worked as an aide for the Pinehurst school. In 2009 until her death, she spent time caring for her grandmother.

In 1988, Heather met the love of her life, Mike Oberg and they were married on Sept. 14, 1996. They raised three wonderful children.

Heather loved and enjoyed her family and friends, animals, fishing and camping. She will be missed by many people whose life she touched in her loving and caring ways. This is not a goodbye, it is only so long until we meet again our beloved angel.

Heather is survived by her husband, Mike Oberg; three children, Courtney, Jacob and Sidney of the family home in Pinehurst; her beloved grandmother, Ruth Bohannon of Pine Creek; her mother and stepfather, Gloria and Jeff Peterson of Smelterville; her father and life partner, Tom Atkins Sr. and Patsy Capparelli of Homedale; one sister, Sherrie (Rob) McLeod of Pinehurst and one brother, Tom (Tami) Atkins of Pinehurst. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Heather was preceded in death by her special Grandpa Talley; Grandpa Alfred Bohannon; Grandpa and Grandma Earl and Rosie Atkins; Uncles Jim Talley, Steve Talley, Mike Talley, Terry Atkins and Bill Atkins; and Aunt Darlene Talley.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel in Kellogg with Pastor Corey Berti officiating. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Pinehurst Lions Building in Pinehurst following services. This will be potluck and everyone is welcome.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 884, Kellogg, ID 83837.
