ELECTRIC CITY - An Electric City man arrested Thursday allegedly made threats to bomb the Grant County Courthouse.
Lyle A. Floyd, 43, was booked into Grant County Jail, facing charges of threats to bomb or injure property, three counts of felony harassment and three counts of felony telephone harassment.
A Grant County Mental Health employee said Floyd allegedly made several threats to harm himself and others and "blow up" the Grant County Courthouse, as well as Child Protective Services offices in Olympia and Omak, according to a report from the Grand Coulee Police Department.
An employee at the Omak CPS office also told officers Floyd made threats to blow up the courthouse and Floyd had been known to have weapons in the past, according to the report.
Floyd allegedly made threatening comments to one other CPS employee and officers were instructed by the mental health office to pick up Floyd.
Officers located Floyd's vehicle at a tavern in Electric City and contacted Grant County sheriff's deputies to assist because of previous violent contacts with Floyd and prior "threats to kill law enforcement," according to the report.
Floyd was arrested without incident and booked into Grant County Jail.
