Marks helps Prairie earn split with Bandits

POST FALLS - Jesse Marks hit two-run singles in the first and second innings to propel the Prairie Cardinals past the Spokane Bandits 11-7 in the second game of a class AA American Legion doubleheader Monday at Post Falls High.
The Bandits won the opener 7-3.
Jeremy McKinney scored three runs for Prairie, which scored all 11 runs in the first three innings of the second game.
In the opener, the first four batters scored for the Bandits, two of them scoring on hit batsmen with the bases loaded. Jeremy McKinney had a two-run double in the first for Prairie.
Next up for Prairie is the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic, which begins Thursday, with the Cardinals playing the Spokane Blue Devils at 3:30 p.m. and Kalispell at 6, both at Post Falls High.

COEUR d'ALENE - Dominic Conigliaro struck out 14 for the Coeur d'Alene Lakers, and Paul Laster had two hits in the loss at Lake City High.
The Lakers are back in action Thursday against Mason at 3:30 p.m. and at 6 vs. the Bitterroot Bucs at Lake City on the first day of play in the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic. The three pods for the tournament in Coeur d'Alene are at Lake City High, Coeur d'Alene High and Ramsey Park.

Brendan Delgado struck out nine in a complete-game win for the Coeur d'Alene Lumberjacks in the opener. Dylan Shaffer drove in three runs, and Delgado doubled in a pair of runs.
The Tigers won the second game on a walk-off double. Jake Grinde and Delgado had doubles, and Shaffer and Dain Bashaw also drove in runs.
The Lumberjacks play Deer Park today at 5 at Ramsey Park.
