COEUR d'ALENE - Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty is digging its digs at the newly remodeled Johnston Building at a prime downtown location.

The realty's newest office is on the main floor of the property at the northwest corner of Second and Sherman owned by the Hagadone Corporation.

Many of the old features of the 1905 building, including bank vaults and brickwork, were included in the $500,000 remodel that has an open and contemporary feel looking out to Lake Coeur d'Alene and The Coeur d'Alene Resort.

"This is clearly the most visible professional office space in the downtown business district," said Gary Schneidmiller, broker owner of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty, which made the tenant improvements. "I have been joking that it is at the corner of front and center and it really seems to be.

"We've had a great response. When people walk out of The Resort door, we're the first brokerage that they see."

Brad Hagadone, president of the Hagadone Corporation, said the remodel is a wonderful addition to downtown.

"I couldn't be prouder of the work that has been done," Hagadone said on Tuesday after a tour of the remodel. "This building has eclectic values and personality to it. Gary Schneidmiller is a wizard at laying out his offices. Most importantly, I hope it sells more properties. The timing is perfect."

Mark Johnson, Coldwell Banker general manager, said the new office will complement the firm's kiosk facility at The Coeur d'Alene Plaza Shops and the main office on Northwest Boulevard.

"We have always prided ourselves in presenting the finest offices in the best locations for our sales team," Johnson said.

The Johnston location will focus on the higher-end residential market.

"This presents an unparalleled opportunity for local sellers to bring the highest visibility to the properties they wish to sell," Johnson said.

Coldwell Banker office manager Kelsey Anfenson added: "Customers love the idea of showcasing their properties on the video screens that face Sherman and Second."

Eighteen agents will work out of the new office.
