Carol Jean Bengtson (Prentice) passed away June 25, 2013, at her home in Post Falls. She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Rosalia, Wash., to Charles and Maude Prentice.

She grew up on a farm in Worley, attended school in Worley and married Fred Bengtson in Coeur d’Alene on July 19, 1941. She and Fred farmed land in Worley and Plummer before moving to Post Falls in 1949.

She attended Community Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and belonged to the women’s association. She was a past member of TOPS Club in Post Falls.

She leaves two sons, Vernon Bengtson and wife Judy of Post Falls, and Jerry Bengtson and wife Maureenia of Coeur d’Alene; daughter Linda Bengtson of Post Falls; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Community Presbyterian Church in Post Falls, with Pastor Doug Waltar officiating. Reception will follow the service.
