Lance Joseph Deglow, 49
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 11 years, 6 months AGO
On June 30, 2013, Lance Joseph Deglow “went to be with the Lord.”
Lance was born on March 3, 1964, to Joseph and Gloria Thorson in Harlowton.
Lance proudly served in the U.S. Navy for a total of eight years, three active and five in the Reserves. He was a plank owner for the USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71, which meant he was part of the first crew to be on that ship.
Lance was well known for his sense of humor and storytelling. He always used sound effects and a lot of hand gestures which made them all the more hilarious. He loved the outdoors, hunting, camping, hiking and riding ATVs.
No matter what he was doing, he always made sure that everyone around him was taken care of. He was one of the most caring and unselfish people you could know, with a gentle and kind spirit.
On Jan. 1, 2008, he married the love of his life, Laura. They were best friends and loved doing everything together. His years with Laura were the happiest of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Thorson; adopted father, Bert Deglow; and niece, Brianne Pacheco.
He is survived by his wife, Laura, of Kalispell; daughter, Brittany Deglow; three stepsons, Shayne, Andrew and Gavin Weston; mother, Gloria Deglow, of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Tammy Deglow of Denver, and Becky Adamson of Boise; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his best buddy from eighth grade, Chris Bailey.
Lance was a strength to everyone and always encouraged people to be strong and keep going.
A memorial service will be held at 5p.m. today, July 6, at Foursquare Church in Kalispell.
