The Libby Area Chamber of Commerce and Riverfront Blues Festival are teaming up for a day of art and music Saturday, July 6, on Mineral Avenue.

The Mineral Avenue Art Fair/A Taste Of The Blues starts and 10 a.m. and will run until 7 p.m., with local artists displaying their work while two bands provide free live music.

Mineral Avenue will be closed from Sears to Third Street. Downtown businesses are encouraged to participate by displaying their own merchandise outside their doors, using sandwich boards to draw in shoppers and having special sales.

There will be food and local art — a good chance to showcase some of the local artists.

Libby Area Chamber of Commerce President Christi Ellwood said Libby is full of talented artists, and this is a great opportunity to see varied local art.

Live music will be provided from 1:30 to 6 p.m. by the Skivvies and the Kevin Van Dort Band, with sponsorship from Noble Excavating and Montana Machine & Fabrication.

A teenage blues trio from Priest River, Idaho, the Skivvies will be performing at this year’s Riverfront Blues Festival, scheduled for Aug. 9-10 at Riverfront Park.

Missoula-based Kevin Van Dort performed at last year’s festival and is coming back to Libby by popular demand.

Discount tickets for the Riverfront Blues Festival will be available during the one-day event.
