MATTAWA - Mattawa's Community Day will be known as Mattawa Comm"Unity" Days this year. The celebration has been expanded.

This year's Comm"Unity" days will get under way on Friday instead of Saturday. It will start Aug. 23 with a kiddie parade at 5 p.m. That will be followed by events at Hund Memorial Park.

Saturday, August 24, will kick off with breakfast at Hund Park. It will start at 7:30 a.m. and go until the food is gone

The annual Fun Run will start at 8 a.m. The parade will step off at 11 a.m., and events at the park will start after the parade.

Groove Principals, a rock-pop band headed by Wahluke Junior High Dean of Students Sean Langdon, will be featured at the park.

There are still spots available for informational booths and nonprofit food vendors. Applications for Mattawa Comm"Unity" Days are available at Mattawa City Hall. Contact Mattawa City Hall for more information, 932-4037
