Lyons-Lewis

Ken and Cece Lyons of Whitefish, Mont., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Lyons of Whitefish, Mont., to Zack Lewis of Coeur d'Alene, son of Jimmy and Lisa Lewis of Coeur d'Alene.

Kathleen graduated from Whitefish High School in 2007 and studied paramedicine for two years at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, Mont. She is a stay at home mom. Zack graduated from Lake City High School in 2006. He is an Executive Sous Chef for Discovery Land Company.

The couple will be united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake.

Stevenson-Goodall

Shantel Stevenson, daughter of Mont and Wendy Stevenson of Rathdrum and Spencer Goodall, son of Allen and Teresa of Post Falls will marry at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, in a garden wedding at the Goodall residence.

MILITARY

Army Pvt. Danlee A. Wood has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Wood is a 2010 graduate of Lake City High School in Coeur d'Alene.

BIRTHS

Sage Elizabeth Van Valin was born at 3:10 p.m. May 20, 2013, to Rachael and Nate Van Valin of Dalton Gardens, at Spokane Valley Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds and was 19 inches long. Brother is Ryder. Maternal grandparents are Mike and Susan Wilde of Camas, Wash. Paternal grandparents are Tim and Debbie Van Valin of Athol. Great-grandmothers are Doris Schock of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Mary Hoffman of Milton Freewater, Wash.

Elionna Belle Cornwell was born 2:07 a.m. May 25, 2013, to Jaime Cornwell (Cummings) and Jayson Cornwell of Post Falls, at Kootenai Medical Center. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18.75 inches long. Sister is Aurora, 2. Half-sister is Jaylie, 4. Maternal grandparents are Phillip and Sherry Cummings of Rathdrum. Paternal grandparents are Jay and Jill Cornwell of Priest River. Great-grandparents are Frayne and Patricia McAtee of Rathdrum, Al and Barb Levno of Corvallis, Ore., and Juanita Horton of North Carolina. Great-great-grandmother is Lois Hanson of Sandpoint.

Madison Diane Schneider was born at 7:56 p.m. June 26, 2013, to Angie and Jason Schneider of Hayden Lake. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Greg and Diane Snyder. Paternal grandparents are Sam and Verna Schneider.

Joe and Marla Lewis

50th Anniversary

Joe and Marla Lewis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2013, with family and friends.

They met and married in Santa Rosa, Calif., on June 29, 1963. Following their marriage, they resided in Santa Rosa, Stockton and Manteca, Calif. In 1978 they moved their family to Coeur d'Alene where they owned and operated Daylight Donuts on Second Street and Lakeside Avenue for 13 years. They have lived in Hayden since 1998 where Joe is an accountant. Marla retired from Kootenai County in 2009.

Joe and Marla have two children. Son Mike lives in Coeur d'Alene and daughter Terri lives in Spokane. They have four grandchildren.

Mike and Shirley Marsan were married on June 29, 1963, and celebrated 50 years of bliss on June 29, 2013.

Marica McLean Ayers Ogle was born May 11, 1918, and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1936. She just celebrated her 95th birthday party at Seasons of Coeur d'Alene restaurant with friends and family.
