Roy Warren Nordwall, 83

Roy Warren Nordwall passed away June 5, 2013, in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

He was born June 27, 1929, in St. Paul, Minn.

After graduation from high school he joined the Army and served in occupied Japan until his honorable discharge in 1949.  

Upon his return to the states, he followed his dream and moved to Montana to be close to his love of hunting and fishing. Roy had several small business ventures over the years, with his latest being Thermal Tech Inc., which he started in 1975, until his retirement in 1993, at which time his son Jay took over the family business. 

Once retired he took up gardening, where one of his proudest achievements was transforming his yard into a true gardener’s dream. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Nordwall; and his father, Harry Nordwall.

He is survived by his loving companion of 24 years, Mary Maude Hatfield; brothers, Thor and Ron Nordwall; sisters, Barrit Campbell and Barbara Wojahn; sons, Mel Nordwall, Brian Scott Nordwall and Jay Nordwall; and daughter, Toni Asher; along with several grandchildren. 

A celebration of his life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on July 13 at his home. It will be informal. Please come and share your memories.
