Hank (Hendrik) van’t Wout passed away June 30, 2013, in Miami, Fla. Hank was born in Rotterdam, Holland, on June 27, 1920.

He migrated to the U.S. in 1956 with his first wife, Maria, and their children. They resided in Simi Valley, Calif. Hank retired from Simi Valley School District in 1981. He married his second wife, Gloria, in September 1981. In 1983 Hank and Gloria moved to Post Falls and lived there until April 2012 when they moved to Miami.

He bred and raced pigeons in California, Idaho and Spokane and was an active member of the Spokane Valley Pigeon Racing Club for many years. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; their children; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
