Woman reports rape near Olney bar

A woman reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that she was raped by a transient on U.S. 93 North in Olney on Saturday night. The victim reported the alleged crime to the owner of a campground, who was possibly going to give the transient a ride to Washington.

A dog owner was counseled on county ordinances and agreed to keep the dog better contained after the animal escaped and bit several horses on Farm to Market Road, injuring the horses.

When animals attack, hospitals get busy, and one emergency room nurse recently contacted the sheriff’s office after running out of county animal bite forms.

Despite the Fourth of July being nearly a week past, a Sharon Road resident said the neighbors keep lighting off fireworks at all hours of the day and night, even at 4 a.m.

A Gordon Avenue woman near Columbia Falls was arrested after throwing things at her husband, beating up on him and trying to put a bag over his head. The woman apparently had a history of assaulting him.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested and transported to the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center after punching her mother in the face and pulling her hair on Summit Avenue in Somers.

A Helena Flats Road resident reported rotations in the sky that could be tornadoes, advising a dispatcher that the wind was not blowing, but there were little dust-devil-like swirls.

A frightened camper off U.S. 2 East near West Glacier reported her belief that three animals, possibly wild dogs, were circling her tent, and that she could hear them growling.

A very drunken man reported someone hit him in the face as he was trying to take a cab home from a Montana 35 bar, but he was unable to provide a good description of the suspect.

A Kalispell Police officer had to divert his attention from a traffic stop during which he found a marijuana pipe because an elderly man started trying to get himself run over nearby — and was nearly successful. The elderly man was transported to another location, and the pipe from the stop was seized for destruction, while the parents of the youth who had the pipe were notified via telephone.

A Child Abuse Hotline representative reported receiving information that a 12-year-old boy was sexually abusing children between the ages of 3 and 6 in a Kalispell neighborhood.

A tense search for a missing 3-year-old girl on East Evergreen Drive ended when the girl was found asleep in a grain bucket.

An Appleway Drive family got a rude awakening when someone threw a rock through their window shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

A woman was assaulted by another woman on Liberty Street, suffering scratches to her face. She said the woman attacked her because the woman believed she was sleeping with the woman’s husband.

A Looking Glass Avenue resident contacted police after trying to get her neighbors to turn down their music, which was loud all the time. She said they then verbally attacked her, saying she was too loud in her love life.

A drunken man, falling around and drinking in public, was reported wandering in front of a Hutton Ranch Road business. He was also reported separately for stealing a couple of containers of alcohol from another nearby store.

A passerby hungry for some ice cream contacted police after approaching a Hutton Ranch Road ice cream shop shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday. The person found the door unlocked but the business dark and no one inside.

A resident reported a neighbor to the Whitefish Police Department and, subsequently, to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, for feeding wild animals.

A boisterous band on East First Street was advised to call it quits for the night after a neighbor complained about the noise shortly before 11 p.m. Monday.

A violent femme was arrested by a Columbia Falls Police officer after assaulting her stepfather with a knife on Second Avenue West.

A distraught Rapids Avenue man called to report his water softener had sprung a leak and his house was filling up with water.

Along with traffic stops, runaway youths and people being disorderly, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a “swine/sheep/goat at large” on Canal Road near Polson Monday.
