The Columbia Falls swim team finished first last week in Cut Bank, edging Conrad by just one point for high-point honors. It was C-Falls’ first win of the year.

Forty local swimmers hit the waters at the July 6-7 meet and several had first-place finishes.

Kathleen Bellon shaved nearly two seconds off her previous best time to take first in the 100 freestyle at 1:43.22. She also took first in the 50 butterfly at 52.68. Lexi Brunz was first in the 100 freestyle at 1:25.28.

Tyler Langton had another nice meet, taking first in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly to get the hat trick. His times were 34.3, 1.27.26 and 51.75 respectively.

Jessica Loyda won every event she swam in, including the preliminaries.

She took first in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke with times of 30.95, 1:31.36 and 1:09.52.

Zane McCallum won the 25 backstroke with a time of 26.21. Garrett Role won the 100 breaststroke at 1:27.52, and James Role won the 50 breaststroke at 53.02.

The team travels to Fort Benton this week.
