HANFORD - The Spuds hit the road to Hanford Monday looking to pick up a couple of wins and put a stop to a four-game skid. But the Flames had another thing in mind as they took both games of the doubleheader.
The dual losses drop the Spuds to 8-14 on the season and extends their losing streak to six games.

Hanford brought a run across the plate in the bottom of the first inning of play, then added two in the second, and two in the third to race out to a 5-0 lead.
The Spuds responded with a run in the top of the fourth to erase the goose egg off the score board, 5-1. The Flames tacked an insurance run on in the bottom of the frame to make it 6-1. Neither team scored in the fifth and sixth inning.
The Spuds, desperately needing to mount a comeback, scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but fell three runs shy of sending the game into extra innings.
Chase Tunstall got the start for the Spuds and pitched one inning, giving up one run off one hit. Jacob Price gave up four runs off six hits in two innings of relief, and was tagged with the loss. Mason Mathews closed out the final three innings of the game.

Game 2 of the doubleheader was all Hanford as the Flames torched the Spuds with 14 runs off 12 hits in the six inning game that was shortened by the 10-run mercy rule. Isaac Bernard led the offensive attack for the flames going three-for-four with two home runs, two runs scored, and six RBI.
The Spuds took an early 2-0 lead in the game. The Flames got within a run in the bottom of the second inning, then blew the contest wide open with four in the fourth, and five in the fifth to push the score to 10-2.
The Spuds put two runs on the board in the top of the sixth to make it 10-4. But four Hanford runs in the bottom of the inning sealed the victory for the Flames.
Colton Kelly and Spencer Street had two hits each for the Spuds. Cameron Ball gave up five runs off six hits in four innings of work on the hill and was hit with the loss.
The Spuds (8-14) will try to right the ship and put an end to their six-game losing streak when they travel to Ferris High School for a doubleheader with the Spokane Bandits today.
The team hosts a single game with the Prairie Cardinals at noon on Wednesday at Larson Field.
