A Kalispell woman has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of theft after embezzling from her then-employer.

Taira Desart, 44, embezzled more than $155,000 from Jesco Marine and Power Sports over a span of six years, according to a court document.

Desart’s change of plea was the result of an agreement with the Flathead County Attorney’s Office, which is going to recommend a 10-year suspended sentence for Desart, along with restitution and any fines.

The maximum penalty for the crime is 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

A sentencing hearing is set for Sept. 19.
