LeRoy passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Four Seasons Assisted Living from Parkinson's. He was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Alexandria, S.D., to Howard and Mattie Foster. He graduated from Alexandria High School. Married Ada May Geppert on June 10, 1954, in Farmer, S.D. They enjoyed 59 years together.
LeRoy was the general manager of Farmers Union Cooperatives in Alexandria from 1953-1956. They moved to St. Maries where LeRoy managed the Co-op Supply from 1956-1966. LeRoy became General Manager of the Co-op Supply in Ronan, Mont., from 1966-1977. LeRoy was the General Manager of the Co-op Supply in Coeur d’Alene from 1977 until retirement in 1995. LeRoy and Ada May ran numerous antique booths at Wiggetts Antique Mall in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Special thanks to staff and caregivers at Four Seasons Assisted Living Center where LeRoy has been since September 2011.
LeRoy was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks, Eagles, Lake City Senior Center, KMC Heart Support Group, Parkinson Support Group and Striders.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Ada May; son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Debbie Foster in Markham, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, LeAnn and Pat Richards in Sierra Vista, Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law, Ward and Lani Foster in Boise; daughter Linda Foster in Bothell, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Gary Sonnen in Dalton Gardens; grandchildren, Brant Richards, Tashina Freeman, Kelsey Richards, Jessica Sonnen, Joe Sonnen and Essex Foster; great-grandchildren, Reese and Ava Freeman; his sister, Delila Dalton in Memphis, Tenn.; and special friends, Susie Sinclair, Mary Lou and Paul Wilson.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mattie Foster; twin brother, Lloyd Foster and grandson Warren Lee Foster.
A vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, with burial at St. Thomas Cemetery followed by a reception at St. Pius.
