SANDPOINT — It was a stellar couple of rounds recently for Sandpoint golfer Brad Temple at the Idaho Club.

Temple dropped his second hole-in-one in as many years, using an eight iron to ace the 152 yard No. 4 hole, hitting an uphill draw toward a pin that was placed on the back tier of the green.

“It bounced, rolled up the hill and disappeared,” described Temple, who carries a tidy 5 handicap. “I said to Jim Quinn ‘that might have gone in.’ He said ‘whatever.’ I could tell it was on line.”

Temple, who has been playing golf for more than 40 years, had his first ace just last fall at Stoneridge Golf Course. Following his most recent ace, he went out and carded a 69 at Idaho Club.

“It was a perfect round of golf,” said the 55 year-old. “The best I’ve ever played out there. Golf is a funny game.”

Also picking up a hole-in-one recently was Hope golfer Pam Story, a longtime golfer who finally picked up her first ace, hitting a nine iron from 96 yards on hole No. 2 at the Idaho Club.

“It was a one-hopper, I watched it go in,” said Story, echoing a familiar refrain among many golfers. “I never thought I’d get one.”
