Abortion by the numbers: 3,767 deaths a day?
John OâNEIL | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 11 years, 6 months AGO
I’m not sure if anyone has ever looked at the subject of abortion in this manner. However, it strikes me as an excellent process in order to put the issue into perspective. Since the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, there have been 55 million little souls murdered in the United States before they could take their first breath. Do the math: 55 million human beings divided by 40 years is 1,375,000 murders per year, or 3,767 per day for every day (365) of each of the 40 years. That’s staggering!
Abortion is condoned by our elected government officials and was placed into law by our Supreme Court, which was appointed and confirmed by our elected body. The individuals on our Supreme Court must believe that they are above God with the word supreme in their title. What ever happened to our Christian foundations and God’s Sixth Commandment: “Thou shalt not kill”?
We, the people, must not let ourselves off the hook for these despicable acts. We, too, are culpable because we continue to re-elect these creeps.
Keep in mind as you read that each of these government officials took an oath to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution “so help me God.” Remember also that our government subsidizes abortions with our tax dollars. It does not get more evil than that. And yet, the Declaration of Independence states clearly our unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What happened to the right to life for the innocent unborn?
Just think for a moment about all of these 55 million children that have been murdered “lawfully” by abortion in our country since Roe v. Wade. Ponder what God had in mind for them and what they might have accomplished in this world. Forty years have passed since this legal evil began, which means, in theory, that all 55 million souls could still be very much alive today, the oldest among them being 40 years of age.
There are about 193 recognized countries in our world. Of the 193 countries, the bottom 61 countries have a total population of about 55.7 million. Now just imagine that we as a society decided to eliminate the entire population of the 61 countries mentioned above. That would be a few more than 55 million, but who’s counting? Or, we could decide to eliminate one-sixth of the population of the United States, which would be about 55 million souls.
We are not, it seems, one nation, united, under God. If we were, we would stop this mass murder. We are just as culpable for standing by and allowing this travesty to continue for 40 years. It matters not in which trimester an abortion is performed. It is still murder.
Now think about Sept. 11, 2001. We cried and continue to mourn 12 years after these attacks that killed about 3,000 men, women and children. That is 767 less than we abort (kill) each and every day! We allow unjust wars to continue because our government has convinced us that it’s right to go after those supposedly responsible for the 9/11 murder of 3,000 people in a one-time incident. And yet, that same day (and the next, and the next) we continue to murder 3,767 babies in America, and few care or do anything about it.
Why, then, do we do nothing to change the law to prevent this murder? What is wrong with us that we cannot uphold God’s law and protect the innocent unborn children? Just a stroke of a pen could save millions of lives and change our world for the better forever. Certainly saving 3,767 lives every day seems a worthy cause.
Here is another thought-provoking statistic to mull over. We cried about the murder of 20 young children at the Sandy Hook school in Newtown, Conn. And yet, that same day (and the next, and the next) we kill about 40 babies by abortion in Connecticut alone, but no one talks about that. Where is the outrage over abortion in Connecticut like there is over gun control?
One can only imagine the pain and suffering that these women (and the men involved) must endure when they realize what they have done in murdering their own unborn children, and know that one day they must face God’s final judgment. And then there are the many young men and women who choose to become obstetricians, taught in medical school that abortion is just part of the job, and thus choose to compromise their values. And how will the Supreme Court judges justify their decisions to God on judgment day?
What will it take to awaken the American people to the right and moral choice? We have crisis pregnancy centers by the thousands all over our country with good Christian Americans prepared to help those in need to choose life over death. Organizations such as Care Net and Heartbeat International, just to name two, are there to assist. Morally, don’t we all have that choice to make, and isn’t it time we all make the right choice?
I believe that we can awaken and step free of the heinous programing and destructive culture that has been fostered in our country. Reach out and God will reward you. God will bless you.
