Fort McLeod cooled off the Kalispell Lakers, claiming a 7-4 victory Saturday night in the final game on the second day of the John R. Harp

American Legion baseball tournament at Griffin Field.

Earlier in the day, the Lakers dropped the Calgary Redbirds 8-5.

The Lakers knocked off Medicine Hat in a late-Friday evening game 9-7.

Walker Malmin went 3 for 3 and had the go-ahead RBI in the fifth inning of that one. He also picked up the victory in relief.

Zach Sands and Justin Rich had multiple hits.

Mission Valley, for the third straight game, scored more than 10 runs. The Mariners whipped Asotin County Blues 12-2 and Vauxhall Spurs 14-3 on Saturday.

Bradley Pichler went 4 for 4 and Jeremiah Crawford doubled twice and drove in four runs versus Asotin.

Pichler doubled, as did Zeke Webster-Yaqui.

In the Vauxhall contest, the Mariners scored in every inning. Alex Killian, 2 for 4, homered and Ryan Pablo, 3 for 5, doubled.

Also Saturday, it was Asotin County Blues 12, Glacier Twins B 8; Fort McLeod Royals 5, Cranbrook Bandits 4; Edmonton Cardinals 18, Medicine Hat Knights 5; and Cranbrook Bandits 10, Glacier Twins B 5.

Mission Valley will play Fort McLeod in the championship game today at 3 p.m. at Griffin Field.

Spokane 6, Glacier 5

WHITEFISH — After opening the Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial American Legion baseball tournament with victories on Thursday over Lethbridge (11-10) and Friday over Meridian (8-4), the Glacier Twins have dropped two in a row.

The Twins lost a late-Friday night contest to the Great Falls Chargers (6-1) and then dropped a 9:30 a.m. game to the Spokane Cannons on Saturday in nine innings.

Eight different players accounted for the Twins’ eight hits against Spokane. Shane Marcial and Peter Seymor had doubles for Glacier.

Marcial, Seymor, James Ratzlaff and Zac Darling had one RBI each.

Glacier jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one inning and broke a 2-all tie with a three-run fourth inning.

Spokane followed with a run in the fifth, sixth, seven and ninth innings.

Tournament action winds up today at Memorial Field with the consolation game at 10 a.m. and the championship contest at 1 p.m.

LEWISTON, Idaho — Libby managed to push a run across home plate in the sixth inning, but that’s all the Loggers could muster in dropping its first game of the tournament after two victories.

Luke Haggerty went 2 for 3 for Libby. He also drove in a run.
