CLACKAMAS, Ore. - Brett Robbins crossed the plate three times and hit a double to lead the class AA Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen past Oregon City 6-3 in the first round of bracket play in the Clackamas Diamond Classic on Friday.
It was the second game of the day for Coeur d'Alene (11-23), which got out to a hot start versus Gresham (Ore.) and never looked back in a 10-5 win earlier in the day.
"I liked that we played with a lot of intensity in both games today," said Lumbermen coach Lloyd Duman, whose team continues winners bracket play against Westview today at 3 p.m.
In the game against Oregon City, Jake Gonzales pitched a complete game, striking out a pair.
The Lumbermen scored runs in the fifth and sixth inning to pull away from Oregon City.
Against Gresham, Colby Kennedy pitched six strong innings, allowing three hits.
Joe Roletto provided the offensive firepower, batting 3 for 5 with a triple and two RBIs. Shawn Montee went 2 for 3 with three runs.
Coeur d'Alene jumped out to a 7-0 lead over five innings, before Gresham finally answered with a five-run sixth inning. Coeur d'Alene came right back with three more runs to seal the game.

Dain Bashaw took a tough loss on the hill for the Coeur d'Alene Lumberjacks 16-and-under team, which got hits from Braeson Richmond, Reagan Jacobson, Brendan Delgado and Dylan Shaffer against the Summerhawks.
Coeur d'Alene plays at Mead today at 12:30 p.m.

SPOKANE - Dominic Conigliaro singled in Grant Wade for the lone run for the Coeur d'Alene Lakers' 16U team.
The Lakers close out the season Monday against the Coeur d'Alene Lumberjacks at 7 p.m. at Ramsey Park.
