COEUR d'ALENE - A disabled Post Falls woman has filed a lawsuit against the owners of the Skyview Medical Park in Coeur d'Alene for allegedly failing to maintain safe conditions in the parking lot.

Heather M. Larson, through her attorney David Ducharme of Coeur d'Alene, said the "icy, dangerous condition" of the "steeply sloped" parking lot caused her to slip and fall in the lot, resulting in "grievous bodily injuries."

The lawsuit filed on July 9 in 1st District Court also alleged that Skyview failed to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, for not better accommodating Larson.

Skyview allegedly had a "hazardous access route, entry and/or walkway," the lawsuit said.

Along with Skyview, Dr. Craig Wiesenhutter, an owner of the building, also is named as a defendant. He could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.

Larson is "100 percent disabled due to chronic lupus, vascular necrosis and severe osteoarthritis."

She was at Skyview, located at 950 Ironwood Drive, on Jan. 23, 2012, for a scheduled treatment for her lupus.

Ducharme said Larson dislocated an ankle and broke both bones in one of her lower legs when she fell in the parking lot.

"She was fragile," he said.

He said emergency responders who were called to the scene to help Larson had to put down sand and de-icer to help her.

Larson is seeking damages to be determined at trial.
