A pair of felony sexual abuse of children charges against a 55-year-old Polebridge man have been dismissed after he pleaded no contest to a single count of the crime.

Flathead County District Court Judge Robert Allison dismissed the two counts against Theodore Ramon on June 27 as part of a plea agreement that includes a recommended sentence of 15 years, all suspended.

Ramon’s plea allows him to accept conviction and take advantage of the plea agreement while continuing to deny the allegations that he showed pornography to, discussed sexual acts with, took pornographic pictures of and molested a girl who was at the time between 8 and 10 years old.

The recommended sentence was based on a “favorable evaluation” by Missoula psychologist Michael Scollatti along with Ramon’s plea to the single charge.

A court document states Ramon allegedly admitted some of his actions, but later called one of the interviewing detectives and said he was angry the girl had not been arrested and charged for her role in the incidents.

He allegedly said if it wasn’t for the girl coming on to him, the incidents would never have happened.

If the judge does not follow the recommendations of the plea agreement at the Aug. 29 sentencing, Ramon could face between four and 100 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
