West Mullan Fire burns 20-50 acres in Superior

UPDATED 9:02 PM ---According to area sources, several homes have been evacuated and authorities are currently recommending other evacuations in the area below the West Mullan Fire.
The fire is currently 150-acres and continues to burn.

SUPERIOR (8:15 PM) --- Forest Service Firefighters are currently battling a 20-50 acre wildfire at the mouth of Pardee, two miles northwest of Superior.
According to a press release from the Forest Service, the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and they currently have two crews on scene as well as eight smokejumpers.
Three Single Engine Air Tankers are currently working on battling the fire, which is located on steep hillsides with grass and timber being the primary fuel.
One of the SEATs is making retardant drops at the scene while the other two are filling at the Clark Fork River and dropping water continuously.
The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office as well as Montana Highway Patrol is currently conducting traffic control on Mullan Road and according to the forest service Interstate 90 may be impacted.
