EPHRATA - A Moses Lake man will spend some time in jail for stealing items from Walmart and mail from his ex-wife.

Ryan L. Bone, 36, pled guilty to first-degree theft in Grant County Superior Court recently and was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Moses Lake police were dispatched to a trespassing in progress at Walmart located on Stratford Road. Officers were advised the suspect was Bone and he was trespassed from Walmart in August 2012.

The police contacted loss prevention and watched Bone on video inside the store using a live security feed.

Bone was observed pushing a cart full of items, putting items down his pants and hiding items inside his coat pocket.

Police observed Bone enter the store's bathroom and emerged 10 minutes later.

According to the police report, law enforcement detained Bone after he passed all cash registers and attempted to leave the store.

Bone reportedly told police he tried to steal because he was hungry and didn't have any money.

When Bone was searched police found a cellphone, charger, candy, muffins, sub sandwich, knives and a piece of mail addressed to his ex-wife.

Loss prevention also found cellphone packaging and an MP3 player in the bathroom garbage.

According to the police report, Bone said he receives mail at his old home. When police called his ex-wife she said she was awarded the house and property in the divorce settlement and forwards Bone's mail to him. She told police that she wanted to press charges.

The stolen items totaled $39.22.

Bone was arrested and transported to Grant County Jail.

According to court documents, Bone was a suspect of a theft from Sear's in February and was arrested and trespassed from Leprekon Foods in January.
