Name of victim released in one-vehicle rollover on Highway 200

PLAINS - The name of the victim in a one-vehicle rollover has been released. Kathy Duffner, 63, passed away at the scene of the crash late Monday night.

The one-vehicle rollover occurred late Monday night around 10:30 p.m. at mile marker 81 on Highway 200. According to Montana Highway Patrol the vehicle was headed westbound on Highway 200 and swerved to miss an elk. The vehicle overcorrected to the left, then to the right and rolled. The vehicle landed on its top in a ditch to the side of the road.

Kathy Duffner, 63, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, her husband John, was transported to the hospital in fair condition. 

Closures of Highway 200 were in effect Monday night as responders assessed the scene.
