Victims of July 12 wreck on U.S. 93 still in critical condition

Two of the people involved in a head-on collision on U.S. 93 south of Highway 40 on July 12 remain in critical condition.
Montana Highway Patrol trooper John Underwood said the 68-year-old Whitefish man who drove the Subaru sedan and his 92-year-old Kalispell male passenger are in critical condition.
The 23-year-old Columbia Falls man who drove the Pontiac is in stable condition at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
According to Underwood, the Columbia Falls man was traveling southbound on U.S. 93 when he crossed the center lane and hit the northbound Subaru head-on in front of the Three Dog Ranch pet boarding business.
Whitefish emergency crews extricated the driver of the Subaru after removing the roof using the Jaws of Life. Underwood says an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
