KALISPELL, Mont. - The AA Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen concluded their two-game road trip to Montana undefeated, edging the Kalispell Lakers 11-8 in a nine-inning game Friday night.
"Our plan was to mimic some of the things we might do at districts," Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman said. "We're really happy with how people were swinging the bats."
Gibson Green powered the team to victory, going 3 for 4 with a three-run, lead-changing homer in the eighth.
"That really helped us out," Duman said.
Joe Roletto added three hits, Brett Robbins had two hits and two RBIs and Colton Gray went 3 for 5 with a three-run double in the first.
"(Colton's hit) got us started today," Duman said. "We had a really good first inning."
Coeur d'Alene (15-25) jumped out to a five-run lead in the top of the first, before Kalispell answered with five of its own.
Tied at 6 through three innings, the Lakers took their first lead in the fourth with a two-run inning.
The Lums scored one in the sixth and four in the eighth to earn the victory.
Coeur d'Alene hosts Missoula, Mont., Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Ramsey Park.
