Gerlitz joins NIC as director
Tim Gerlitz has joined North Idaho College as the director of the Center for Educational Access.
Gerlitz previously worked for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare as the Medicaid program manager for Regions 1 and 2 as well as the statewide bureau quality manager for the Bureau of Developmental Disability Services. He has worked for Health and Welfare since 1994 in various jobs. Recently, Gerlitz worked exclusively in developmental disabilities. Some of his past duties included managing programs that involved adult developmental disability services, long-term care for aged and disabled adults, and personal care services for adults and children.
NIC's Center for Educational Access (CEA) is charged with assisting students in achieving their educational goals by facilitating accommodation requests due to documented disabilities.
Gerlitz has a bachelor's degree in sociology and social work from the University of Idaho and is an Idaho Certified Public Manager. Gerlitz has long family history in the area as his grandfather moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1915.
