Paving work to begin
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 8 months AGO
COEUR d'ALENE - Idaho Transportation Department crews will pave a stretch of Interstate 90 near Coeur d'Alene and the junction of Idaho 41/54 starting the first week of August.
ITD crews from the Coeur d'Alene maintenance sheds will work overnight from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Aug. 4-7 and Aug. 11-14 (both are Sunday-through-Wednesday schedules) to complete needed paving in those areas.
Drivers are asked to watch for flaggers and signs. ITD will use electronic signs on the freeway, portable signs on the roadside shoulders and truck-mounted signs to alert motorists to the work.
All ramp closures will start around 8 p.m.
Here is a tentative schedule for the project:
* Aug. 4-5 - paving the Idaho 41/54 junction and the north and south lanes to Rhode Island;
* Aug. 6 - paving I-90 from milepost 13 westbound to the 4th street off-ramp; (This ramp will be closed and drivers will need to use Exit 12.)
* Aug. 7 - paving Exit 7 eastbound off-ramp; (ITD will only be closing half of this ramp.)
* Aug. 11 - paving Exit 7 eastbound on-ramp. (The ramp will be closed and drivers will need to use the Exit 6 eastbound on-ramp.)
* Aug. 12 - paving the Northwest Boulevard overhead near the eastbound on-ramp and moving from milepost 12 on I-90 to the Exit 13 off-ramp at 4th street. (The ramp will be closed and drivers will need to use the Exit 12 off-ramp or the Exit 15 off-ramp.)
* Aug. 13 - paving Exit 11 eastbound on-ramp. (This ramp will be closed and drivers will need to use Appleway or Ironwood to reach the U.S. 95 eastbound on-ramp.)
