This weekend it will be one year since Coeur d'Alene resident Isaac L. Roberts went missing in Oregon.
Meanwhile, law enforcement authorities in northeastern Oregon have not given up the search for Roberts, 40.
Oregon State Police said Thursday officers had fanned out in the small, scenic town of Joseph, Ore., posting bulletins hoping to generate a tip that would help crack the case of what happened to him.
He was last seen on July 28, 2012, and is believed to be a homicide victim.
Roberts' wife reported him missing on July 29, 2012, to the Wallowa County Sheriff's Office.
Wallowa County is in Oregon's very northeastern corner. Roberts is a Wallowa County native, graduating from Joseph High School in 1991.
Roberts traveled on his motorcycle to the area last year for the annual Chief Joseph Days, a multi-day event that includes a rodeo, parade and dancing.
Lt. Gregg Hastings, of the Oregon State Police, said, "This is our best opportunity to possibly reach people who attended last year and returned to the area."
When Roberts arrived in the Joseph area last year during Chief Joseph Days, police believe he was with two Union County, Ore., residents. Union County neighbors Wallowa County to the west.
Police haven't released the names of the two companions, who are considered persons of interest.
It is believed Roberts might have then traveled to Lewiston, Idaho, with one of the companions. It is believed he went missing under suspicious circumstances during the return trip to Oregon.
It started as a missing-person case, but evolved into a homicide investigation.
Hastings said now is a good time to remind the public about the case.
"Someone knows something," Hastings said. "They just need to come forward and give that one, critical tip."
Roberts is a 6-foot-3, 215 pound white male with green eyes and ash blond hair. He has a long goatee and no mustache.
He has an upper-right arm tattoo, and was last known to be wearing a gray T-shirt with the words "Lone Wolf Harley" on the front upper left chest and on the back. He also was wearing a black Harley-Davidson vest, blue jeans, black boots, and a black "skull cap or do-rag" with the Harley-Davidson logo.
Anyone with information about Roberts' whereabouts can call Oregon State Police at (541) 963-7174 or email a tip to crimetips2OSP@state.or.us.
