QUINCY - Authorities arrested Arnoldo Mendoza, wanted for attempted murder, in a raid of a Quincy home Thursday night.

Mendoza, 20, has been on the run since allegedly shooting Luis Ochoa Murillo several times last Friday morning in an orchard west of Quincy. Authorities said Mendoza fled in a pickup truck found abandoned in a nearby orchard. Authorities had been looking for him ever since.

Members of the sheriff's office, Quincy police, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team raided a home on Mountain View Drive about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the sheriff's office. Mendoza was arrested without incident.

An alert was sent out just before 5:30 p.m. warning the public to stay clear of Mountain View Drive.

Grant County prosecutors filed charges of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and robbery against Mendoza Monday, according to a previous Columbia Basin Herald story. Both the attempted murder charge and first-degree assault charge carry a maximum potential life sentence.

Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones and Quincy interim Police Chief Greg Meinzer expressed thanks to residents for their help. Their tips help lead officers to Mendoza.
