Harbor Freight a month away
Nils Rosdahl | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 11 years, 5 months AGO
Numbers, prices and quality are the increasing mainstays of Harbor Freight Tools. The business plans to open a new store in mid-August in the center of Mountain View Shopping Center (behind Texas Roadhouse at the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Neider Avenue).
Harbor Freight offers more than 7,000 tools and related products and has advertised for 45 employees in the 17,000-square-foot space. Starting in 1977, Harbor Freight has more than 400 locations and has been adding about one new store each week. Its headquarters is in Calabases, Calif.
The company has two stores in Spokane at 15312 E. Sprague Ave. and 6506 N. Nevada St. Check the website at www.harborfreight.com.
Maverik set for Ramsey-Hanley
This gas and fast-food business has an interesting start.
In 1928, 20-year-old Reuel Call started a two-pump gas station in Afton, Wyo., with money he earned by renting roller skates. Now Maverik-Adventure's First Stop has more than 250 locations in 10 western states.
The newest will be at the northwest corner of Ramsey Road and Hanley Avenue.
Its BonFire food made fresh daily includes its Bundle sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, burritos, hoagies, salads, sport drinks, yogurts and snacks. The 4,600-square-foot place will have 12 fueling pumps.
Planning to open in October, this Maverik will be open 24 hours daily and have about 10 employees. Check www.maverik.com.
Paws & Claws moving west
Boarding and playcare with 6,800 square feet of grassy room is a major reason for the move of Paws & Claws Pet Resort to 460 W. Clayton Ave.
Planning to open there (just south of Runge Furniture off Highway 95) in the middle of August, the business offers boarding, daycare, playcare and grooming.
Now at 2900 Government Way, owner Tudy Gilbert and four associates offer a canine social club, feline parlor and bathhouse with daily and weekly rates.
The five-year-old business is open 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. Phone 667-6700.
