Alpine Theatre Project will conclude its four-week celebration of “Broadway’s Best Week by Week” with a tribute to classic Broadway musicals in a production entitled “Some Enchanted Evening: Broadway’s Golden Age.”

The show runs Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center in downtown Whitefish.

“We’ve saved the best for last,” says Betsi Morrison, Alpine Theatre Project’s artistic director. “We’re ending our celebration with Broadway’s most enduring classics.”

The show will pay tribute to the musicals of Broadway’s golden age, created by such artists as Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe, Frank Loesser, Jerome Kern, Leonard Bernstein and Meredith Wilson. Included in the program will be famous songs from such shows as “Showboat,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Carousel,” “My Fair Lady,” “Man of La Mancha,” “Oklahoma!” and more.

Headlining the concert will be Broadway veterans Kevin Vortmann and Marissa McGowan. Vortmann recently had his debut as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony and performed in the Broadway production of “A Little Night Music” with Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta-Jones. McGowan has performed in the Broadway productions of “Les Miserables,” “A Little Night Music” and “Bonnie and Clyde.”

Rounding out the cast will be Alpine Theatre favorite Rebecca Spear, and Alpine Theatre Project co-founders Morrison and Luke Walrath. Morrison performed in the Broadway productions of “Carousel” and “The Sound of Music” and toured nationally with Robert Goulet in “South Pacific.”

Joining them on stage will be Alpine Theatre co-founder David Ackroyd, a veteran of five Broadway shows and countless film and television appearances.
