It was a quick trip for runners in the Glacier Bank Boogie to the Bank race at Heritage Days July 27. A total of 132 runners completed the 10K race and 99 more completed the 5K race.
“It’s easy,” said 5K winner Troy Fraley of Kalispell. “It’s fun. I was kind of tempoing it.”
Fraley, who graduated from Glacier High School, will attend Gonzaga University in the fall on a running scholarship. He ran the course in 14:56.2.
The 5K course is almost all downhill or flat. Makena Morley, of Bigfork, was the top woman at 16:55.3.
“I like it,” said Morley, who won the race last year. “It’s fast.”
Jinise Osborne was sixth in the 5K for the women at 19:29.0. Justin Whitman, of Columbia Falls, was seventh for the men at 17:42.6.
Jace Kalbfleisch, of Whitefish, won the 10K men’s race at 35:33.8.
“It’s an awesome race,” Kalbfleisch said. “The bridge was tough.”
Jake Greenwald, of Columbia Falls, was third in the 10K for the men at 38:57.9. Annie Hill, of Kalispell, was the top woman at 39:01.3. Jessica Rumsey, of Columbia Falls, was third at 40:38.2.
