Hoagies on Fourth

Taking advantage of many "positives" earned by the place over the last 32 years and adding some of their own, Joe and Crystal Kubista purchased and are operating Franklin's Hoagies eatery at 501 N. Fourth St.

They offer made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with omelets, hoagies, burgers, homemade soups, daily specials, beer, wine, free wi-fi and delivery available through CDA Food Delivery.

Seating is at the grill-front counter, for 30 in the dining room, 15 on the deck and four at the bar-top.

Both the Kubistas have many years of restaurant experience (and that's how they met). Joe completed the culinary arts program at North Idaho College and worked several jobs in several restaurants, including being a manager at Capone's. Crystal started as a dishwasher at age 14, worked at eateries on her way through college and is now an assistant principal with the school district. Phone 664-3998. Check www.franklinshoagies.com.

Coldwell Banker Realty downtown

With eight other offices in North Idaho, Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty now probably has its most visible location by moving into the Johnson Building at 101 N. Second St. (at Sherman Avenue) in downtown Coeur d'Alene.

Built in 1905, the lake-view building previously was home for the local phone company, later was a bank and is now owned by the Hagadone Corp.

Fifteen agents offer all real estate services and the preview luxury program there. Gary Schneidmiller started selling real estate in 1979,

joined Coldwell Banker in 1983 and is the top selling-listing agency in North Idaho with 115 full-time residential and commercial agents. Mark Johnson is general manager. Phone 765-2222.
