Wandene Harriet Logan was born on July 16, 1934, in El Monte, Calif., to Herbert and Creo Lovins. She lived there until her father was diagnosed with tuberculosis.

They then moved to the high desert town of Littlerock, Calif. She attended Antelope Valley High School where she met her future husband, Clarence Logan. They married on Nov. 22, 1952, a few months after his return from serving with the Army in Korea. They lived in the Littlerock home they built for most of their married life except for several years traveling with work from 1963 to 1976 in Redding, Calif., Birmingham, Ala., and El Monte, Calif.

They returned to Littlerock in 1976 after their children had all grown. At that time, Wandene was hired at a furniture company. She worked her way up from an office employee, to office manager, to area supervisor. Upon retiring in 1995, she and Clarence moved to Rathdrum to live with their son, Howard and his family. From there, they all settled in Spirit Lake in 1997 and have been very happy since.

She was a very kind and giving person. She loved and excelled in her career. She enjoyed being Involved in her family’s activities from attending and volunteering at sporting events, planning parties and special events for and just keeping the household running smoothly. Family always came first with her and she will be missed.

She’s survived by her husband, Clarence; their sons, Herbert and wife Selena of Corona, Calif., Harold and his wife June of Reno, Nev., and Howard and wife Wendy of Spirit Lake; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and her sister, Aladayne Highfill.

A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Yates Funeral Home, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. A visitation is planned prior to the service at 11 a.m. at Yates, Coeur d’Alene, and a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake following the service.
