EPHRATA - Racing action returned to the quarter-mile oval at Ephrata Raceway Park Saturday after a one week hiatus for the Memorial holiday.

Fans were treated to another thrilling night of local racing as their favorite drivers with the Jerry's Auto Supply Racing Series of the Kim Janke State Farm Agent Youth Hornets, Ephrata Pioneer Muffler II Pure Stocks, Pepsi Street Stocks and Jerry's Auto Supply 360 Wingless Sprints kept them on the edged of their seats in anticipation of who would cross the finish line first.

"It was another great night of local racing," Rita Witte, manager of the Ephrata Raceway Park, said. "June 8 Inland Oil & Propane presents the Jerry's Auto Supply Racing Series  featuring the West Coast Vintage Racers, Golden Wheels, The Kim Janke State Farm Agent Youth Hornets, Ephrata Pioneer Muffler II Pure Stocks, and the Schaeffer Oil Mini Stocks."

The dominant figure in the Kim Janke State Farm Agent Youth Hornets competition, Witte said, was Dylan Heer who set a track record and took command of all three of the events he entered.

"That made him the overall winner for the evening," she said. "Newcomer Zach Anderson came in second in the main event."

Andrew Razey took an lead early and held to win the Ephrata Pioneer Muffler II Pure Stocks heat. Max Garza finished second, and Heidi Larsen hung on to place third.

Justin Dunagan held the lead for nine laps in the Pepsi Street Stocks main event with Neil Nelson and Eric Hector nipping at his heels. Hector took the lead in lap 10 to take the race. Second place went to Kyle Childress. Steven Frazier finished third.

"The Jerry's Auto Supply 360 Wingless Sprints saluted longtime friend and racer Todd Lolkus, who passed away this past week with a memorial lap," Witte said. "Whitney Nolan drove Todd's No. 24 car to the win."
